A successful wedding day relies heavily on a team's adaptability. Recently, I had the opportunity to work as a second photographer alongside Megan Jolie from INLOVE Events & The Wild Vow at the elegant Flores & Pine.

My primary brief was to cover the indoor reception and banquet, but arriving early and being fully prepped paid off. Due to a sudden schedule shift while the lead photographer was capturing the bride's morning preparations, I immediately jumped in to document the groom’s portraits and his getting-ready details. Being ready to shoot the moment you step onto the property is a non-negotiable standard in this industry.

Flores & Pine features a stunning, character-filled hall, but like many premium indoor spaces, it is inherently dark. To combat the challenging ambient lighting, I relied on my go-to setup: a multi-point Godox off-camera flash system deployed around the perimeter of the room. This configuration gave me absolute control over the light and directional contrast throughout the entire evening, resulting in punchy, crisp, and high-contrast portraits that pop off the screen.

The atmosphere of the night was remarkably relaxed and genuine. By staying light on my feet and engaging naturally with the guests, I was able to break the ice, earn authentic smiles, and capture real reactions. Pairing that approach with long-focal-length lenses allowed me to remain unobtrusive, freezing candid interactions and fine details in their truest form without interrupting the flow of the night.

After a seamless handoff of the raw files to the lead photographer, the assignment was successfully wrapped.
